Eddie Leroy Bridges
Born June 17, 1919, as the seventh child and the fourth son of Joe and Senora Bridges.
Growing up, he shared responsibilities of the far with his siblings. He attended school at First Baptist in Earl and Boiling Springs School. He also attended Lincoln Academy Boarding School near Gastonia, North Carolina.
As a young man, he married the late Opai Vee Rachael Earl of Maple Springs, North Caolina. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served during World World II. He received an honorable discharge e in 1945. He settled firstb with his wife Opal Vee in Shelby and later moved to Waco near his parents homeplace where he still lives. The union for 47 years until Opal Vee's death in 1987 and was blessed with four children:

He has held employment with Sears Roebuck Company, the O. Max Gardner Foundation and Fiber Industries. He served for 20 years as a deputy for the Clevland County Sheriff's Department. After retirement, he established Bridges Lawn Mower Service, where he spent much time.
Leroy is a member of the Washington Baptist Church where he has served as trustee and is presently a deacon.
